For me, purity isn't simply about what I do with my body. It's a mindset. Yes, saving yourself for marriage is VERY important. But purity is also about how we act, how we dress, and what we think.
I've committed to purity. It's a personal commitment to God and my future husband to save myself for him. And it's also a commitment to not be flirty or dress inappropriately or have lustful thoughts about anyone. It means that I'm not going to date a guy just to say I have a boyfriend. It means that when I do decide to date someone, I'm going to avoid compromising situations. I know that God is always with me, watching me, and I have promised Him to stay pure.
Matthew 5:8- "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."
Philippians 4:8- "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable --if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-- think about such things."
2 Timothy 2:22- "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
