Okay, so today we're talking about Halloween. Before I tell you what it is, here are the links to the other girls' blogs:

Okay, so for those who don't know the origins of Halloween, here is a short, basic history (quoted from Equip.org -- http://www.equip.org/hank_speaks_outs/halloween) If you look the background of Halloween, it's rooted in the ancient Celtic feast of Samhain. The Druids believed that on the eve of Samhain the veil between the present world and the world beyond was pierced, releasing demons, witches, and hobgoblins en mass to harass the living. In order to make themselves immune from attack people would disguise themselves as witches, devils, and ghouls to attempt to ward off evil spirits. They would also carve grotesque-looking faces on gourds illuminated with candles, and they would try to placate the spirits with a variety of treats

So it's evident that Halloween is evil. The good thing is that there are alternatives. Some people have other parties, and different things at church, and some just like to dress up whether they celebrate Halloween or not. You don't have to celebrate Halloween, but in the end, it depends on whether or not you think it's something God would be okay with you doing. Although when you know what it really is....
